Which tubes should I get?
Topeak seems like the popular brand so I'll go with them for the pump and multi-tool. Is that pronounced like 'top peak' or 'to peak'? As for the tubes, are the they pretty much the same from brand to brand as far as quality, there are so many different brands/types, can someone explain these different types.
- Schrader tube
- PV tube
- Long PV tube
- Self healing
- Ultralight (sounds pretty self explanatory but I'm sure more can be said)
- Thorn resistant (sounds pretty self explanatory but I'm sure more can be said)
Fyi - I have the 07 Rockhopper Comp Disc and it comes with Specialized 26x2.0 schraeder valve.
Thanks for the help!

Ok, it's understood 'Yes Tubes' are great. But can you elaborate as to why? Also, can someone please answer my question about all the different types of tubes? Thanks!

I have been riding/racing for many years and I have always used the regular: chen-shin/kenda/pyramid brand and I think they are about all the same..weigh like 200g or so. I am about to order some 'light-weight' Maxis brand ...weight 125g...This is a significant difference in rotating mass which will help things, however, I think the material MUST be thinner to get the lighter weight. so, I will see if they hold up the same.
All my wheels are drilled for a presta valve which has a smaller diameter than a schrader valve. So, a shrader valve tube will not fit in a presta drilled wheel but, a presta will fit into a shrader drilled rim...You dig?
Also, a presta valve needs a $1.0 adapter to use with a common bicycle pump. Many modern bike pumps can handle both but some do not.
oh, I think the presta hold air longer and are better for high-pressure.

Hank Rearden is really smart though, so I just went along with what he said.
Maybe you could drop yestubes an email.

Once I filter the SPAM from the 2174 emails maybe I'll post some of the better emails...like the ones from bike shop owners asking about distribution info.

"Your website is pretty weak. It does not explain your product very well. I am looking for something that will keep my mountain bike tandem going. I ride 100 pounds of pressure and deal with goat heads here in New Mexico. Will your product stop the flats? Is it available in a 451 size tube for my Bike Friday tandem?"

I agree that tubeless has its good and bad side, but so does a tubed set-up.
My question to you is how come I see more people flatting with tubes than with tubeless systems. Where we are from, we wait on tubed riders to repair tubes more often than we do Stan's tubeless riders. I have gone to the Stan's No Tubes system, and I have yet to have any problems whatsoever. The last race I did with tubed tires, I pinch flatted. I have yet to ever flat with tubeless tires.
What's the real catch, and what's the real fix. Your website is a little vague. Your not really supporting a concept that is concrete. There has to be a real answer to solving the flatting issue on off-road bikes. Got an answer?"

"Hello,
I am the product manager for J&B Importers. I recently discovered your Yes Tubes online and I am interested in possible distribution in the USA. We are the largest bicycle parts and accessories distributor in the USA with nine warehouses nationally and 45 sales reps on the road all over the country. I would like to start a discussion about becoming the distributor for Yes Tubes in the USA. Please let me know if there is any interest in having a National level US distributor. If there is interest we would like to get product information, pricing, etc. for review. We have a catalog that is published monthly and mailed to over 7000 dealers.
We would be able to provide the following things:
1. Ability to put your product in the hands of almost 7000 dealers with our outside sales force.
2. Continuous updating of product information in our monthly catalog mailed to all dealers.
3. Warehousing, shipping and inventory level control on a national level as well as great forecasting abilities.
Please let me know if this proposition interests you. It has worked well for some other companies, and it may work well for you.
Thank you,
Chris Dupuis"

I’m not sure if I got the intention of the Yestubes website wrong but you give no indication of how the yestube tubes work. It seems as though they are just normal tubes but cost $50! The only info on the site is how bad Stan’s NoTubes are. I think for all the effort off creating a website you could at least have explained something about your product."

I run one of the maxxis flyweight tubes on the rear at the moment.. It's paper thin and real light, but I have never flatted. They are light to carry as a spare as well. I run 40 to 50 psi in it though. The tubes retail for like $10, but I found them on sale for less than half that. I'm happy with them. You could probably run a tube for a smaller width tire and have the same result though.
Don't know about the $50 tube, but the price tag makes me want one for some reason.
on a side note..
Now that I think about it I have never flatted the rear wheel it's always the front with a thorn or some other small object. Is there any logical reason my front tire flats more?

The way I see it, if there's a dancing man on you're website, It's a joke.
If it is by some reason real, I'm not buying it even if it is the next hottest thing since (I would type sliced bread here, but I have the urge to be controversial and DIFFERENT!) sex.
