Looks reasonably realistic, although I didn't know you had a tricycle...

The snow racer is awesome on whistler mountain after a drunken night

I have a great idea. Whistler, you are looking at, generally 1100 to 2500$ / month not including utils. If you have an *in* or are willing to take a *room* you can find stuff under 1000$. Lots of aussies double up in rooms. Staff accom (dorm room setting) 500ish depending on the hotel/intrawest.

But a word of warning about accom, there will be lots and lots...(I mean lots) of parties...drugs (lots, almost endless...not just pot) and alcohol...so if you tend to follow the crowd a bit, I have seen many a good kid get messed up by getting in good with that one really hot chick or some of the semi-pros who have remained semi for a reason.

Pemberton - 20 minutes north - is cheaper...10 to 15%
Squamish - 45 min south - you can pretty easily find apartments for 500 to 800$ range and decent sizing too. But expect them to be a bit....dirty. The bonus to squamish, while further away, its 45 minutes further south to the shore. So lots of riders find squamish ideal for some of th best xc in the area and 45minutes south of the fast flowy whistler and 45 minutes north of freeride heaven...If you drive and like a STUNNING commute, squamish is the place to live.

Compared to out east rent is completely outrageous...and you pay will be minimal (though higher than out east)...best work to get is construction, pays well and lots of hours. The more "comfortable" you want the job, the less you will get. Guys who work front desk and get the hours they want...have two jobs ...guys who work in the big hotels and sacrifice good hours once in a while, have one job and more time off, guys who work construction...get great tans, meet cool people and sometimes get the time off they want, but the jobs are generally pretty chill...

To stay, try the mountain side lodge. /night won't be too much and the rooms are nice. Very close to the base of the mountain and close to a lot of the xc trails. I work at another hotel that does offer room and rentals but it isn't on the cheap.

To rent expect to pay 89 to 99$ / day for the bike and 35 or something per day for a pass. If you are planning on riding the mountain 3 days, get the 3 day edge card for 99$. Well worth it. You can also rent armour and stuff. If you are going all out you can expect to pay 250cdn per night for the accomodations and riding give or take.

Since you are coming up with a buddy, this might work for you rate wise and the bikes ain't to shabby. Stay 3 nights and it is VERY worth it.

http://westinwhistler.com/activities-bike-park.html

That includes pass, armour and bikes for 2 people. Equivelant to a 250cdn value /night. That leaves 149$ for the room and you are RIGHT at the base of the mountain.

Those are some options anyways. I am still notsure if you are doing the xc or the dh...but this should help ...

LOL! I have a brother that lives in Squamish and he does construction for a living!!! What a strange coincidence!

Rent seems better in squamish as you say. Here our rent is 650 for a 3 bedroom apartment, and it's a decent size and not dirty by any means. But the riding sucks.

Know any of the prices in kelowna? I've got some friends that live there(they moved there from ontario) too.
