'05 Specialized P.2 vs. '06 Kona Stuff
I have been looking at gettign a bike I can beat up to take soem of the preassure off of my XC bike. It seems to come down to the '06 Kona Stuff and the '05 Specialized P.2. Both seem like nice bikes, I was just wanting some input on which one I should get. The Specialized P.2 rides a little better, but i can get a good deal on the Stuff. Anything would help, thanks-

The stuff has much better components/fork. Also the frame is made out of 7005 aluminum instead of 6061 (7005 is much stronger). Kona frames are also generaly some of the best. I have an 05 scrap, which is the same frame and I love it. Get the stuff

I'd go with the Kona Stuff. Better components like what nmn25 said.

They are both good bikes, and you can't go wrong with either. I'd recommend the P.2, because you stated that it rode better. In the long run, you'll probably be better off with the one that's a better ride.

7005 is better (stronger) than 6061 (which is what the p2 is made of, I believe)

A difference that small in the aluminum wont make or break the bike. At that point its all about frame geometry and wich bike feels better to you. If the Specialized feels like a better ride to you then perhaps its the better bike for you. The frames designs would play more of a factor in there integrity even with the tiny insignificant difference in the aluminums.

It is good to keep in mind that the more comfortable of a bike the more you will like it.

I was riding my 01 stuff, and meet a kid with an 05 P2. The P2's are very light bikes. Hollow cromly frames I think. Both good bikes for the money that they are. If I had to choose one, I would say the stuff. Tougher.

ALright, well thank you all for the help, it seems that the general idea is the Stuff has better components, but I should go with the one that feels the best. I will go ride them again, and for a person like me, (i'm not picky with components) I'll probably just go with the one that feels the best.

I have a "short" specialized p.2 (2004). The frame is tough and this is my only bike with disc brakes. I used it for cruising around the city and for some trails. I'm not a jumper or down hiller, but it was nice for what I used it for. But it can handle way more than just city cruisin. But, I just got a new bike and need to let it go as I'm running out of space in my apartment. If your close to southeastern pennsylvania and interested in it, let me know.

Hey Jase1 sorry about the delayed response. I went out of country and did not have access to a computer for several months.
I am nowhere near Pennsylvania.
Thanks for the offer though.
