I listen to metal. Click on the "Bleed the Sky" link in my name to download a song by them. I don't usually listen and ride at the same time. If I do, I get confused easily and screw up a lot. So I do a lot of pre-ride music listening and then ride like crazy!

Bunch of others:

KillSwitch Engage
Ill Nino
Static X
God Forbid
Mudvayne
Project 86
Dope
Emery

Saliva

I would think this thread will read like the soundtrack of a Mountain Dew commercial...

I usually don't listen while I ride, I hate wearing headphones or the ear buds. Maybe I should consider it as it could drownd out the Sounds of snakes rustling around in the leaves or a deer going full tilt through the woods in my direction.

before the ride I usually go with rock.

Tool/APC
Rob Zombie
The Mars Volta
Silvertide
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Rage against the Machine

I'm stuck in the 90's

Rap music is derived from people that do not want to work a day in their lives. They want to have 4 things in life: Guns, Sex, Money, and Drugs.

All they talk about in rap is those. Every rap song is generic and a slight deviant of the last. And I absoultely hate those little **** like eminem that go and try to act black and rap.

I personally believe that Rap is what is ruining our society. And I've seen first hand accounts of it.

Yeah but it ****ed up all the teenagers of my generation. A bunch of stupid white kids with pants at their ankles, talking ****, "yo yo yo, you got a problem wit diss?" and looking like a complete idiot. At least 40% of males in my school are like that. I HATE it!

Don't tell me this isn't ********:

I disagree.

I believe it screwed up a minority of kids that happen to be both vocal and visable to you. The majority of kids you age (god listen to me, im not that much older than you) are not influenced by rappers imo. You just don't notice said majority because, well, they keep to themselves and dont cause trouble.

Rap wasnt alway like this either. Its a recent issue i think. Saw some thing on VH1 a little while ago that had some of the old school rappers, including Run DMC talking about how shallow and stupid modern day rap and rappers is/are.

But that doesnt mean its the front running cause of the degradation of out society.

I think its a socio-economic issue more than a rap issue. I think gansta rap culture is a symptom if a much bigger problem. Although interesting, i dont think its relevent to mtn biking and i fear mael will ***** slap this thread to foo shortly.

Little bit of everything. I'm a big fan of music, as you can tell by the picture below. My favourite pre-ride artists/bands to listen to are Chevelle or Benny Benassi. Totally different types of music, but i love 'em.
