Riding in Alaska

I'm planning on moving to Alaska next year and I was wondering how the mountain biking scene is up there. Is it a really short season because of snow? And are there good trails?

Thanks

You've just mentioned a state which is about half the size of the continental US. *Where* in Alaska are you moving?

Anchorage or Fairbanks

Tons of riding. If around Anchorage, Hillside, Kinkade park, Powerline Pass, on and on. In the Mat Su Valley, Bradley Kepler lakes area, Hatcher's Pass. Make sure you go Johnson Pass out towards Hope/Seward area. It's the most beautiful ride I have ever been on.

I hear Fairbanks has some really good riding. Do a search on the bicycle clubs in Alaska. We like to ride all winter, so the seasons are up to you on how long they last.
