Taking emo to a whole new level

Falling on your chainring produces some pretty results

Today I'm walking around the office telling people I got attacked by a bear, heh.

I was going up this trail and hit some loose dirt. The trail just gave way.

Rather than take a tumble down the side of the mountain, I leaned waaay over to my right to fall that way and my arm caught my chainring.

Bitten by chainring > tumbling down mountainside

Yikes! That's exactly why I put a bashguard. I managed to find a bashguard that covers the three rings.

Scratches don't look too, too deep. Just make sure you cleaned them out well.

Dude! Wear them with pride. They are indeed beautiful. Not often one gets them on their arm.

My daughter still proudly sports the scar on her leg when I ran over her about 9 years ago. Opened her leg up pretty good. Her first SPD crash and she did it right in front of me on the only line in the trail. My favorite picture of her is a race photo of her focusing down the trail and blood is dripping down her leg. Well that one and all the naked kid in the battub pictures from when she was an infant.

Of course there are scars I would prefer not to be on my body. The ones that remind me stupidity is but a nanosecond away. Like the burn I wore for a couple weeks after I decided to check to see if Disc rotors on bikes really could heat up enough to cause pain. They can.

That didn't look so good. That is kinda odd how you ended up landing on your chainring.

    Wicked wounds, man. Looks cool.

I had a bad accident Saturday morning during a solo ride..some hairy single track going down hill..I got airborne accidentally and landed smack dab on my shoulder. Pretty bad contusion, I was pretty torn up. Thankfully nothing broken. My skull cap doubled as a handy little sling around my neck.

What irritated me was, as I walked my bike back home, no one stopped to offer a ride or assistance of any kind. Few people honked at me, that was it. Thanks for the honk, you jerks!

I was on vacation in Cape Cod. On the "Bike Trail" in Wellfleet. And I just fell, I have no idea how it happened, but as I was skidding, my calf his the chain ring so I had a bunch of punctures in a row. It wasn't as bad as that though.

i was gonna say tell everyone you got attacked by a bear, as soon I saw the gnarly scratches, but you took care of that
"I'm; young enough to know the right car to buy yet grown enough not to put rims on it. I got that 6-deuce, with curtains, so you can't see me and I didn't even have to put tints on it."

I got one from the chainring on my leg. Mine wasn't scraped it just stuck in about half an inch and left a pretty bad ass scar.
