You can run lower pressure for low traction situations.

I never get flats anymore, pulled two small thorns from the front tire and one from the back, a couple weeks ago. white stans sealant bubbled from all three holes and never went flat! gotta love it!

I prefer standard tires converted to tubeless. Not only are they lighter, offer a better selection, they are also much cheaper.

Biggest advantage for me is lack of flats. Biggest downside is losing the excuse of getting flats. Now I have to make up all new excuses for being slow.
