Bike Stolen - Denver

Hi Folks,

My bike was stolen from my front yard in Denver today. It is a grey Addict brand frame. It has hope disc brakes, a Marzocchi front fork, and wheels built with hope hubs and Rhyno Lite rims. One distinguishing feature is the copper and gold Ganesh (the Hindu elephant headed god) on the head tube. I've attached a picture below.

Please contact me if you see any traces of this bike.

Thank you,
Owen

Even better... the person who steals it crashes... and the bike remains unscathed.

The good news is unique bikes are often returned to their owner. A fellow rider, Jeff, recently had his Banshee Scratch stolen. He got it back about a week ago, it had only been gone for about 2 weeks.

Ummm, just curious why would you leave something like that in the yard unattended to?
Best wishes in the return of it.
As for mine(4 of'em) they are never unattended "unvaulted" always stored in the house semi-apart, anchored to the floor in 2 seperate closets with reinforced doors. Nothing short of a die grinder or cutting torch is going to break 'em loose.
When i seperate from it in public ( rarely) it is imobilized. It will either have to be carried or thrown into a vehicle if broken loose.

How do you immobilize it? Do you take off the wheels?

Sorry to hear this man.

Not my neck of the woods so the best that I can do is wish you luck in getting it back and as an added bonus, having the thief getting what's comming to them.

Thanks for the condolences everyone.

Yes, it shouldn't have been left unattended in the front yard. I rode up to my house with some take out. Dropped the bike in the front yard where everyone was hanging out. Then I went inside to eat and everyone else stayed out front for about 15-20 minutes. Long enough for me to forget it was out there. Everyone came in. I didn't remember it was out there until I noticed it was not in the garage, 2 hours later. Ouch. I walked out to see that it wasn't where I had left it.

Add to that "people who drive slowly" and you've got the right idea.

Should be fairly easy to spot with those BLAZE ORANGE valve stem caps.

Seriously though, don't take chances with stuff you want to keep.
Thieves sell it for dope $$$ overnight usually...

Maybe you'll get very lucky & have it returned, or the cops will get it
on a drug raid. You might want to keep in touch with'em about once/week.

GOOD LUCK
