Anybody have spare $ for donation?
I just got back from the lbs and they told me that they could only give me a measly 400 bucks for my enduro. They were totally out of bighits, and didnt know when they would be getting p2 or the bighits in.
The guy showed me a norco vps atomic which was going for 1699. Im still not sure if I want to spend that much money....But I think ive figured out that I do want a FS versus a p2. Now I just have to figure out exactly which one and how much I want to spend on it. Hey Klein??? Are you listening?? Im still thinking about your bike....now that I know I couldnt get the same deal at the shop without trading my bike in which is out of the question. |
Figure out how much you are willing to spend. Between $1500 and $2000 you can get a good fs bike.

Wow now that's a ****. You bought that Enduro what three weeks ago? Depreciation is one thing but c'mon! What did you do? Did you bring in a wadded up frame and offer up the components?

Feeling sorry for you...30 days is usually sufficient time to return a bike as long as it isn't abused...even crappy sporting goods stores do this.

Sell your Enduro on Mtbr.com
then go get you a new bike that U want. Screw that LBS! :crash: |
Well they are a good shop.......but then again the bastards will only give me 400 bucks for a bike thats not even 90 days old. Yeah theres a few scratches on the seat stay but nothin bad at all.
Do you guys think I should get rid of my enduro even though some of the trails I ride are meant for lighter bikes? Im looking to buy Kleins bighhit but he just told me that since he is the original owner, the warranty doesnt apply to me. Apparently he read this on the website.... Do you guys know of any ways around this because I would not want to have to send the bike back to him if I ran into a problem that the warranty would deal with. |

I will, however, give props to Klein for his honesty in this matter he could have sold you the bike and just let you find out about the whole warranty thing. |
Nothing bad enough to bend you over for 2/3 rd's of the list price huh? WTF? What do you ride most? You say that you ride trails designed for "lighter bikes" and suddenly you need a Big Hit? The Enduro is positioned between the XC Rockhopper FSR and the Big Hit as far as travel is concerned. Keep the Enduro for a while, work up to the Big Hit later if you feel you must have more My other option is to totally overhaul the enduro by putting on a new wheelset fork and shock. This of course would cost a lot of money and a new bike would be a wiser purhase in my opinion, as well as the people who I have asked. |
I'd ask Big Hit Maniac about longer rides on Big Hit's

I figure I could get a dirtjumper 3 for 270 a wheelset for 300 and a rear shock for 300. I have been looking on supergo and pricepoint a bit and these are close to the deal I could get. Im not sure exactly what items I would get besides the DJ3. The way I see it is why upgrade my parts to freeride and spend all that money, if the frame cant take the abuse I want to give it. The real question is, how much abuse can my frame take without cracking? So far I have dont 5 foot drops on it, but plan to go bigger more frequently which is why im considering another bike.

*shrugs* Keep the bike, save up, buy another. That way you can chose what you want to ride whenever you like.
