A couple of pics of my "rig" after my ride.

Its was wet but not too cold in the mid-Michigan area. I could concentrate anymore at school. So I hit the trail. I went by myself so I dont have any action shots yet. Enjoy. Sorry if they're a little blury looking. I'm not very good at holding the camera still.

That bottle and cage are just waiting to be destroyed.

craigery 10-17-06 07:29 PM

haha! I know. I put that on there until I get my camelpack. Its on order. I went the other day with no water and I thought I was going to die. There arent too many big logs with out a ramp over them. It was still in tack after todays ride.

jiiiim 10-17-06 08:38 PM

how you load the c-dale on that car?

craigery 10-17-06 08:44 PM

In the back right now. I have a thule "big mouth" on order. It mounts on top with both wheels on. Its a tight fit right now but it'll do for a few more days. If I didnt want the "big mouth", thule makes an adapter to use the velo vise with the lefty shock. I dont really want to deal with taking the wheel off a lot.

jiiiim 10-17-06 08:50 PM

yea that's what i thought too cuz the trays on your car are fork mounts and last time i checked, lefty is not qs with regular hub =P
just wondering

Looking good. Nice to see a dirty mountain bike.

mx_599 10-17-06 08:52 PM

did you get any dirt on the tip of the water bottle?

Thanks. I bought it to beat the crap out of it, not keep it in the garage and clean. :)

Oh yeah, the bottle got really dirty. I just wiped it off before I drank any water.

be careful you don't get any parasites from the ground! maybe you'll get some cutaneous larvae migrans action :p

craigery 10-17-06 09:20 PM

Hmm...never thought about that. Thanks for bringing it up. I dont know if it mattered, but I wiped it off plus I didnt touch my lips to it.

mcoine 10-17-06 09:20 PM

I have a water bottle that has a cover. Keeps the mud and crap off the nozzle.

hehehhe... i am just giving you a hard time! didn't we all eat dirt as kids? ...or only when forced.

seriously though, i wouldn't ride around in the tropics like that. surely you'd be asking for trouble then :D

AfterThisNap 10-17-06 10:15 PM

or if you ride shared trails, you'd be drinking a lotta horse poop.

craigery 10-17-06 10:16 PM

Sure did taste good.

J-McKech 10-17-06 11:26 PM

Nice ride, lefties still freak me out.

wethepeople 10-17-06 11:42 PM

so true...
it's same as like... you're hanging outside Taipei 101 with an inch thick reinforced steel cable (which is impossible for it to break consider you dont weight more than a few hundred tons) but you wont do it cuz it's just so freakin' freaky!!:(

A long time ago, I had a Nishiki Ariel with an under-the-downtube bottle mount. I thought it would be a great place to mount one of those new-fangled Instaflate CO2 inflators. While attempting to hop a log, I misjudged my speed (or rather lack thereof) and slammed the downtube on top of said log. The Instaflate took the hit and its casing smashed into little pieces. However, in the process, the CO2 cartridge somehow got punctured and shot away from the bike like a rocket. Luckily it missed me and the people that were around me.

my son got Giardia from a local swimming pool that was contaminated.

"SWEET" would not be the choicest of words I would use to describe it, or the length of time and tests required to diagnose it.

I would probably go with something like "REALLY, REALLY ABSOLUTELY FU#@ING DISGUSTINGLY SICK". That describes it a little better.

? that's not dirty! :p
