Full face helmet with lots of venting???
Heys guys, I thought I would ask for help on this choice. I'm doing alot of all mountain and agressive trailriding and am in need of a new helmet. My main thing is that it has to be a fullface helmet, and the more venting the better. So and good choices??Brands and models I should look at?? All input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Nik.

Boy, based on the title, I expected to read some venting by you. Oh well. I guess I'll go to the roadie section as they're always venting about something...

one less horse
The Specialized Deviant is worth checking out - more vents than any other proper fullface I've seen lately.

PRYME AL at MEC.ca. 90 bucks. Lots of vents. They're on King West at Spadina.
The pro version they have seems to have less vents, a bit more moto.
The same helmet mould with a few tweaks is sold by Ridge and LG, among others.
But the correct helmet is the one that fits your head properly. Try a couple.

I looked into that Met helmet a little. It's not certified for sale in the US, which has some of the most stringent standards in the world for helmets. It also seems there's some issue with the face guard not being able to sustain a hit. It's probably the one that I was most interested in though, if I went to a full face...

DON'T get the MET, I had it for a year and quite frankly I disliked it strongly. It has a bad fit, is too expensive, the mouthguard won't even take one hit and it dents easily (since when do helmets dent anyway?). Oh, in the event of the crash it'll move all over the place and it's almost impossible to use goggles with it.

Ive heard the USA rating system isn't even an organization any more. The companys do the testing themselves, so its not exactly reliable, snell rating is much more reliable.

I would be very surprised if the MET helmets couldn't pass the Snell/ANSI specs, since the tests are not very stringent, nor complicated.

Anyway, self certification is nothing new. All automakers in the US self certify. The recalls and penalties associated with doing something wrong are too great. Most certifications are done by an independant lab so that there is more weight behind them should there be an issue.

There are some good comments and links which you may find helpful.
