Bike ID

thanks to all for the help in the last few days to get my ass back on a bike after a 8 year hiatus. things have changed a LOT since then. not to mention the fact that I barely had an email address back then let alone all of this information on the internet. In the early 90's my friends and I grabbed what ever bikes we could put together (build, beg, borrow) and rode and rode and rode... I sort of miss the simplicity of it all.

I am learning all over again.

Could someone ID this bike for me?: https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/bik/242349273.html

Looks like a 1995 S-works team. Aluminum frame, Judy FSX fork, M900 XTR -- really nice stuff for the day. $200 isn't too bad of a price, but it does look well used.

thanks

you mean its not really a titanium frame?

I'm surprised it is that old- but I haven't gone to look yet. I emailed her and she didn't know much about it other than it being titanium.

The XTR component group on that bike was manufactured from 1992-1995. It may be older than 1995, but with an upgraded fork. The pics aren't very good, so it's difficult to tell.

Not Titanium. It's Specialized Metal Matrix Aluminum. Good Stuff back in the day! I was going to guess mid '90's as well, but it's hard to tell. A close up of the headset and the brakes helps narrow down the age.

Or even better the Serial Number off the bottom bracket shell.

yep, it sold to the first in line- now I am working on a building up a hardrock sport frame from some different components. My wife agreed that if I put a bike together and I get back into riding trails consistently I can then put money into something new(ish).

Thanks for the help everyone!
