Singlespeed 29'er?

Jamis Exile 29'er v. On One Inbred 29'er v. Voodoo Dambala One. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with any of these.

I had the Voodoo Dambala for awhile. I had trouble with the left side dropout slipping. The paint scratched easily and the head badge fell off. I also experienced toe-overlap and the bike seemed unusually endo-prone. The last two problems might not have been there had I bought the 21" frame rather than the 19" frame. The top tube on the 19" frame was a bit short for me so I had to use a 120mm stem. Be sure and compare top tube measurements when shopping around. I sold the Voodoo and bought a Large Niner S.I.R. The Niner is awesome! I've had no trouble with the EBB and the bike handles like a dream. If I were in the market right now, I'd probably be looking at the Salsa El Mariachi. The Jamis looks nice but I'd recommend trying to get the bike shop to keep the Hayes brakes and replacing them with BB7s. I seriously considered the On-One but at the time I was looking they only had two frame sizes and I was exactly in the middle. Of the three that you mentioned, I'd go with the Jamis.

Don't forget the Karate Monkey. The bike is the soul of 29ers.

+1 on the Niner vote. Although mine is the geared version, I'm sure the SS version is just as sweet. I have both the Karate Monkey and the Niner Air-9. Dollar for dollar, pound for pound, the Niner rules over the KM in the handling department. Slightly steeper head tube angle makes it turn quicker in tight situations. I'm keeping the Monkey for a bullet proof commuter build, but the Niner will be my weapon of choice for off road.
