MTB slick tires

Is any other Mfg. making a 26 x 1.0 in. slick tire other than Continental? Maybe a 7/8 in.??? Looking for some really fast road tires . . . (I'm currently using Tioga City Slicker Pro in a 26 x 1.25)

I am sure Ritchey has some. Check their website. Michelin also has one model.

Bontrager Hank 26 x 2.2. They are fast and look great. If you want skinny tires get a road bike.

skinny tires? those are for road bikes! (not that their is anything wrong with that.....)

if your riding in the city, ride it like a mountian bike.

maxxis holy rollers is the way.

technically, an atb with slicks IS a road bike

atb's with slicks are make great urban tools!

conti's are good and come with a 12 month warranty against punctures

as mentioned above too, the maxxis are also very good. (the ones that are slick but have knobbly shoulders(?))

the maxxis holy roller is a waffle pattern tire. great for pavement and hardpack dirt. designed as an urban/dj tire. available in 2.2 and 2.4 widths.

a mountain bike is an excellent way to get around town. but if you really want to go from point a to point b, a road bike will serve you way better. put a fatter urban tire on your MTB, and use it as a FUN commuter. you don't need to go all jeff lonsoky, but find all the little trannies, dodge some pedestrians, drop some stairs. go PLAY and you will be rewarded with a smile and better bike handling skills.

ah, right.
i thought you meant these ones, the high roller semi slick. they're very good on most terrain, even wet mud

i'm rolling on Conti Sport Contact 1.3's, they're very tall narrow profile, 300ish grams, very light and fast. Tall enough they have the cush of a 1.5 tire but narrow as a 1.0 tire. No durability or puncture issues yet, though only ~250 miles thus far.

those are some nice looking tires for running trails; but i think they would wear down too fast, and be a little two squishy around corners when used on pavement.

the maxxis semi's were fine on my bike for a couple of years until the side wall started to give up. the shoulders felt a bit weird to begin with but they're sloped to give a more progressive roll onto them in a corner.

the conti's a re good, the only problem with them are they're a bastard to get onto the rim, they're SO tight,

Slicks for ATB's

I've been using Hutchinson Top Slick's on my atb for about 3 years now..my first pair lasted about a year and a half before the sides started to give way....i'm a big guy ( 6'3, 260) and put a lot of pressure on em' so i change em' once a year, now.
I got em' on a pair of Velocity Deep V rims which can take a heck of a beating.
