Can I get all this for $1500 or less?
I currently ride a Giant Reign 2 but it feels a bit sluggish so I was wondering if I could get the following on a relatively lightweight hardtail for $1500, build or store bought, either one:
-Fox 100RLC fork (or any other Fox fork)
-Hayes Nine hydraulic disc brakes (or equivalent)
-LX or XT or mix of the two components
The trails around where I live aren't daring enough for a 6" travel FS bike and the Reign is starting to feel like a sled so I figured I might try a hardtail. Are there any efficient ways to reduce the weight of the Giant without breaking the bank? Thanks in advance

I'm sure you could. Off the top of my head, the 07 Specialized stumpy comp has all that (juicy 5's instead of the hayes) for $1700. I was looking at one at my lbs the other day. Sure its slightly over your budget, but i think you could find something similar.

The Fox forks are a good idea, but cost more than others. For brakes, you could also try Magura Julies.
