Ever make a city bomber from your old FS?
I'm looking to make an older FS bike into a commuter, just to add some spice to the daily grind. Any body done this? Anybody wanna talk me out of it? Any suggestions?

I see a guy commuting every day on an older DBR FS - - he looks relaxed and content.
I would think about it, but my old URT frame is going to become a ski-bike instead.

I think it would be fun. Depends on the bike though. If you are riding say... and older all mountain to work, you could maybe jump some stairs on the way, I dunno. If its more of an XC bike it could just be nice for comfort. You mentioned it adding "spice", depends on what you define as "spice".

You got the idea. Maybe I will jump stairs, or simply roll down a flight of stairs. Maybe I'll decide to take the bumpy way home. Kinda like when I was a kid on a BMX, spontaneously jumping off a curb. That is still the feeling I get on a bike. Unless it's a road bike. By the way, It'll be garage parked at work, so I'm not worried about locking a flashy FS bike outdoors.

I think it's a good idea.
I am going to start doing the same thing. I've got an old hard tail that I want to put a rigid fork on, but can't find one with a cable hanger on it. I already got some slicks for speed.
Your idea sounds better though.
Does your work have a shower? You'll probably be pretty sweaty when you get there.

Don't some of them BMX/FDreestyle 20" bikes have some kind of hanger that get sandwiched under the crown race? That would do, no? As for the sweat, we got showers. I might even use them. Maybe. 60% chance of showers. heh heh.
