There are no trails!!!!!

I live in Rochester, and here there are no trails, you gotta drive 40 min out side the city to find a patch of off road ground. Which means I can only ride once a week. and you can forget about riding the streets, mad drivers and narrow streets make it imposable. There are a few parks, but they're to small, and I lose intrest after 20 min. I wish I lived out wast or something, its to bad I gotta live here.

Urban baby....you make your own trails and in fact can do a lot. How bout a BSX track at midnight in a parking lot...either way thats why some of the best street riders come from the east. :)

if you only have to drive 40 minutes to get to a trail your blessed.

I've got some light stuff that's closer to me but the good stuff is a minimum of 40 min away. Small wonder why I put in so many road miles eh?

A-MEN to that! Man, I love mountain biking, but here in IL...there's tons of trail closings and I hear more and more people getting ticketed for riding. They close trails to preserve the forest just so the can go and build an apartment building there next year.. WTF!!!! If I want any descent riding, it's about an hour drive if not more to anywhere I can get any amount of over 5 miles in before I have to loop back and just make laps to get more miles in. And after 8 years of the same trails, and more of them getting closed, I'm on the brink of quiting!!! Sorry...had to vent for a bit.

We all need to move!! Ya that's the ticket!! Lets start a mountain biking cult somwhere in Colorado, Canada, Utah...anywhere that has trails!!!! HAHAHA Just kidding all!

We can only hope for more trails sometime in the future, and do our part to keep the ones open, open, and help with maintenance of those same ones.

Ya know whats funny is some parks dont let people ride, but they do let the park Rangers drive ATV's all over the place. What gives?

Actually you're in luck, RIT is 5 miles outside the city - plus you're gonna be right by the Canal, theres a bike path along the whole distance of the Canal. You can ride all the way to Buffalo if you realy wanted.;) You should befine.

BTW, isnt RIT like $40k a year**********?? Must be nice to have money!!!!!!:D

Middi-zon.

I graduated from RIT 10 years ago. If you do road riding you can hop on your bike and do some great riding from RIT. I don't know about the MTB riding there but it is away from the city and I remember many dirt roads and such not too far away. You should be able to do any kind of riding you want starting from RIT. Good luck at the Brick City this fall.
