Might is different than is. It never hurts to be aware of stuff like this as well.

If it is indeed in danger(which I do doubt myself,) it will be all specialized's fault.

Although I have strong philosophical objections to selling National Forest lands to fund schools, this proposal doesn't really appear to pose an imminent threat to the riding in Pisgah. But thanks for the heads up regardless - it pays to pay attention.

Aside from land sales, the thing you really have to pay attention to are the land management/land use proposals. Thats where all of a sudden (if no one's paying attention) your favorite trails become wilderness areas and you can't bike on them anymore.

I was reading on mtbr.com that guys are getting speeding tickets@ 179 bucks a pop for speeding on trails in the San Fran area. WTF? If I see a ranger with a radar gun here, I'm moving.

I heard people at skeggs were getting tickets for going over the trail speed limit. I only ride that place every once in awhile, it's about 10 minutes from my house.

I'm lucky that where I ride is a municipal park, the largest one in the united states. It goes under the same zoning as say central park.

You took the words right out of my mouth......but without the southern twang.

This is kinds old news around here. It has to do with isolated pockets of Forest land that is locked by private lands.
