Alright, this place is turning into a stinkin' Animal House.
OP: What do you mean Freeride/AllMountain? Which do ya want? They are different.
It's really a subjective question. Everyone has "had a friend" who either did a 45' to flat on his bike and didn't scratch it, or "had a friend" who has broken three of any given frame, so it either sucks or is the best ever.
I'd say a good "tough" All Mountain bike is the Santa Cruz Heckler.
A good freeride bike would be one of the Norco Shore duallies.

The Banshee Scream is pretty much bulletproof. Not incidentally, I know someone who's selling a Bender signature edition with a Romic.

Speaking of Bender and that Karpiel, I find it interesting that GalbraithMt.com mis-identified Bender's fork in their caption (saying it was a custom Manitou, when in fact, it's obviously an Avy).

I'd say it again, but I'd make a pest of myself (that's right, I already have). ASX has a 1.5 - - perfect for your single crown.
