How to Build Dirt Jumps?

how does one build a dirt jump? I'm hearing hay bales covered with packed dirt, sprayed down with water? size would be 5-7' high.

that's like porn.

never in my life have I had the pleasure of hitting something like that. not even when I dirt biked.

usually just ragged dirt banks, the cliff at the gravel pit or some dubious mound the local shovel kids made.

Must be California!

Our dirt jump areas consist of a single trail with about 4 small jumps all in a row! Too far apart to be a rhythm (sp?) section, so you have to jump, land, pedal, jump...repeat!

I have just learned to hit two in a row but it is a pain because the only bikes I have are my FR and DH rigs and the suspension just soaks everything up and it is difficult to keep momentum. Soon as I get my ht finished it should be easier. Once I get it built I will get some pics.
