Woman vs Men on the board and sport.

That is the question.. I'm not sure if the poll will work...
I don't see many female riders out here in missouri, though I have heard that there is a suprizing amount of the gals in the sport.

I do not see a question in the poll or in your post.

"How many women / men on the board / MTB sport?"
It isn't phrased well but you get the idea.

Yeah, you hit it right on the head. I should have been a little less ******** with my question there. Sorry about the confusion.

Ok I think I understand now.
If you are a male on this forum and you mountain bike vote man and vice versa for females.

You are trying to find out how many men versus women participate in the "Mountain biking forum". Right?

Here it goes:

If you are men, click MEN
If you are woman, click WOMAN

This poll is simply to show how many of each sex attend this forum, or at least will read this thread.

O wait I think KevinG already explained it, my bad!

just my personal estimates:
40% female : recreational riders (riding to the park once and a while)
15-20% female: avid riders (in bike clubs or tours)
10% female: serious riders (racers)
2% female: commuters

in the tours i lead here in munich there it's usually 5-20% female. for the harder more extreme tours a little less and for the less extreme more relaxed tours a little more.

Note: i know quite a few really serious and really talented female riders -- i will be riding with one tomorrow and my ex-girlfriend who just did a downhill MTB race today is coming in 4 weeks to ride technical trails here in Eruope with me (she bought the plane ticket friday!) and at my MTB Tour Guide training class in 2 weeks there are 5 women out of 25.

for whatever reason a really low percentage of bike commuters are women. why i don't know? (more difficulty changing and getting dressed and ready? it's got to be more than JUST that...)

West coast. There are an endless supply of biker chicks up here.

Do you race xc...you have the best and easiest pickup line in the world "wanna ride" and then you have completed step one.

What Maelstrom said. If there were as many female mountain bikers back when I was 17 as there are today, I think I would have had a much better dating scene than I did.

Alot of women are afraid to get dirty or break a nail

I'd love nothing better than a female who loves to ride as much as I do! But alas... there seem to be very few good women who love to ride

And what century are we in?

Just find any woman who has changed a few hundred poopy diapers and mud from the trails will seem like Chanel #5 body splash.

Guys, I got rid of all the male vs female stuff..I started it, it was my fault, I should have known it was to touchy a subject to joke about.

Hey, my post was deleted and I wasn't being controversial.

I would just like to repost that I'm a woman and I ride. I have 2 other female friends I ride with. I mostly ride with my husband and another couple which are very good riders. I met my husband in Utah. He saw my bike on my car and said "I gotta talk to that girl."

I'm not afraid of mud or breaking a nail. Personally, I don't know anyone like that.

I don't race, but I'm not just a weekend rider either. The area I'm in is perfect for riding and so close to many, many trails. I'm loving it here more and more each year.

Getting a new Diamond Back Apex today.

I think he was laughing at the fact that the owner of the site just didn't look at your location under your name. Not at the location itself. ...

Wait was being sarcastic...and joe was looking for more details ...

I thought he was being sarcastic.

However, Northern Utah could be alot of places.
So Joe's question was quite valid.
