Just Ordered My Trail-or-Park!
So, I'm really excited... I just ordered my Trail-or-Park frame in Raw Chromoly. Can't wait to get it.
Now it's time to start spec'ing parts! It'll be a couple months before the build is complete, but I'm stoked! Just wanted to share

Other thing I'm debating on right now is to either switch it up and do a rigid fork or go with suspension. I've been curious to try rigid, but we'll see.
And yeah, the color choice was definitely hard. The white/green was pretty awesome.

Thanks guys...
I'm thinking toward the Kona Project II fork, although I've been seeing a 24 Bicycles SanKuKai here and there, and they look interesting. Any opinions on either of those? I think I'm definitely going rigid for the initial build.
As far as wheels go, I can get a set of SingleTracks laced to Deore XT hubs for $145 at Jensonusa.com. That's pretty darn cheap. From what I've read, those are pretty commonly used for urban/DJ. If I end up getting those though I need to make sure the decals can be removed, haha.

Awesome, thanks for the tip. Now that I've spent basically the whole day online (at work, oops) looking at components, I may just end up going cheaper and doing something like the SingleTracks.
As far as the fork goes, I can get a Kona Project Two rigid fork new for about $50 shipped off ebaY. I'm thinking I can't go wrong just trying it out.

I don't see why you would want to use rigid for a park bike. I would go with like some dirt jumper 3's or dirtjams.

Should be a sweet build.
Edit: For a rigid fork I would suggest a DMR trailblade2.

Punx: Just merely tryin' something different.
FreeRidin': Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look around at those S-Types... I saw some rigs on another forum with 'em and they even look pretty cool to boot.
gastro: Thanks for the pic! Makes me even more ancy to get the bike built!

BTW, maybe I'm just not looking in the right places, but it seems like those s-types are kinda hard to find online. Am I just missing 'em?

Actually black... Everything I got for my bike is black. White doesn't look too good after you've been to the park a few times. Riding street I'd rather have something that shows the wear the least.
FreeRidin', I sense some hostility toward Deity?

Ah, yeah... Well, I got a deal on 'em, and they've got a good reputation for being burly. You should see my current bike that I ride at the parks. I'm definitely not looking for style points
I can appreciate where you're coming from though forsure.

Aight guys... Here are some final build pics. It will probably be changing a tiny bit soon, but fresh off the stand here's what she looks like... Sorry the photos aren't very high quality.
Thanks to Jeff at CycleWerks in Costa Mesa for helping me out with the build.

I don't really know much about urban trials or dirt jumping bikes at all, so I figured I might as well ask. Why shell out the extra money for a thomson post that is only going to stick out a couple inches and will rarely be (to my knowledge) be stressed?
