Cannondale jekyll Design
Hello, Im considering buying a used Jekyll 600 , year 2000. This bike will be used for trailriding and light freeriding. I want something that pedals efficient, climbs well, and can take small few foot hits. I belive the jeckyll gets 4.5 inches of travel in the year 2000? Any opinions welcome.

Other then the fact that it is a heavy frame it is a nice ride. The problem that some of the riders around here encounter is the swingarm breaks and the warrenty takes forever because of the chaos the company is going through at this time. Other riders here have never had any problems.

the jekyll frame is a good trail bike but was not necessarily designed for free riding. also you, here is the site to check out for the conversion https://www.canecreek.com/site/produc...set/15_xx.html
you can buy this headset at cambriabike.c
I beleive there is another lesser known company that sells packeages that use the current headset but still reduces the size. this may be cheaper. also depending on your budget the manitou sherman free ride, single crown fork comes in 1.5.

Check your PMs. Cannondale is continuing business as usual. There isn't any unusual turnaround times for parts.. that's not an issue whatsoever. The Jekyll is a great bike for light freeride/trail riding, but it's not the most efficient XC wise. A very solid choice, in my opinion.

Keep Looking! There are better bikes at better prices! Not that Cannondale's are bad, just expensive, and I know you're on a budget.

The jekyll has a piece of metal around the shock that you twist to adjust the amount of travel. Very easy and very effective. I would suggest riding a jekyll of that year to see how it feels. some people say that the section of the frame that bulges out around the rear shock hits there legs. this problem has been fixed in the 02, 03's. chances are you won't have a problem but I would check it out before putting down some hard earned cash.
