2000 Specialized Enduro vs. 2002 Enduro

I know the biggest difference between the different years enduros are the frame. The 2000 ones have normal tubing, whereas the newer ones have the monocoque style frame. Does this new frame have any advantage over the older style? Is it more efficient? The only thing i can think thats different is the weight in the overall bike.
'Thanks
Byron

It's stronger. They also went from spring to air shocks, I believe in 2003. At some point in 2002 they had a recall issue. It didn't exist in 2000 and was solved for 2003.
