Before I broke my wrist I was planning on racing in all the major downhill events this summer. So I bought a camera instead and it will most likely be a while before I ditch the single crown. But If I find someone who wants to buy it, I might upgrade towards the end of summer.

I love this bike because it rides as good as it looks. When I first sat on it it felt so comfortable with the smaller cockpit as compared to my enduro. The feel of the bike gave me much confidence in pushing my limits and becoming a better rider. So far I have taken it on many trails that require a lot of pedalling to get around, and while the bike is no xc rig, it does a great job. I have noticed little bob due to the specialzed linkage, which has given me the ability to pound up hills on a 37 pound bike. What it really comes down to in the pedalling department is how strong of a rider is on the bike.

Fork: The DJ3 has performed well, however I am going to get some heavier springs. I have bottomed it ou a few times but that was partially my fault. The only problem I have had with the fork is when the schraeder valve broke off after landing a dirt jump. The fork works, but a 20 mm axle and preload would be nice compliments to this bike.

Wheelset: I have been doing many drops and dj sessions with the bike and the singletracks are staying true. Not much to say here, since everyone knows that these are good rims. The kenda kinetics also are working very well and are hooking up well in all conditions. For all around riding and freeriding they are great, but some bigger maxxis tires would be better for racing. The only thing that sucks with the wheelset are the hubs. Shimano deore in the back and a formula up front. My enduro had better hubs, which is strange, but to me its not a big deal.

Brakes: Another nice thing about the bike is that it has an 8 inch rotor in the back. The hydraulic hfx 9's performed very well on the local downhill trail, which is incredibly steep and techbical. The only problem I have had is when an air bubble formed in the reservoir which caused the front brake to fail. Luckily I wasnt riding at the time.

Drive train: The f/r deraileurs are cheap but have performed fine. I am dissapointed with the husselfelt cranks because they are quite flexy. This seems to be a common problem after I read some reviews of the cranks.

Rear shock: I guess this would be what makes or breaks this bike for some people. That is because it only has 5.2 inches of rear travel. It is the same as the drop, and increases with the launch. The vannilla R has done good so far with me. Yeah, it would be nice to have six or seven inches in the rear, but 5.2 is just fine in most cases. I was keeping up with my friend on a bullit no problem. However, the suspension can be adjusted to 4.5 giving the bike more versatility for longer ride. I will probable never use it but at least its there. I will most likely upgrade the shock within the next year as well.

Overall: The frame is the highlight here. Its a great bike for any application from bighits to downhill, and even xc. I would give this bike a high reccondation for general freeride and downhill use as well as upgradeabilty.
