Yannis, don't get the RF Prodigy, with all the other parts on your bike, it'll be like a full XTR set-up with an LX crank. Save your money and get the RF Turbine LP's, you'll be glad you did!

Point taken A2, one question though, are the turbines as durable as the prodigy?

More So!

If you want strength, get the North Shore model. Heavy Duty for Freeriders!

Nah...i want stiffness and long term life for the crank...i dont do drops at all...just aggro xc and heavy pedalling uphill and during sprints. I need stiffness long life on both cranks and rings.

I prefer the LP Turbines over the prodigy by far. RF's rings are superior in quality and finish to most others with the exception of Shimano XTR. But XTR rings don't work with many spiders.

My father-in-law has the NEXT LP's, and although nice, I don't see the need to spend the extra money for the carbon inserts, unless super-light is your thing.

Also, if you go with the ISIS bottom bracket, stay away from the TruVative BB, I understand they've had numerous problems with them. Stick with RF BB's as well!

Naaaah i would never buy nextlp for the same reason i would never buy the XTR. Anyway i trust that the turbines ISIS are by far better than the prodigies because we are talking about double price here...and i am not prepared to pay double for lets say 5% better performance/durability/stiffness.....if they are 30 or 40% better then i am game for the turbines.... BTW i have tested the Prodigies together with an ISIS RF EVOLVE bb and the performace was bloody marvelous....

I would pay twice as much for the Tubines, but that's just me. The CNC'ing (is that a word?) of them is top notch. Also, the powdercoating (if you want bright colors) is thick and durable. I never had a problem with mine. RF rings are also worth it in my book!
