Best new crankset for about $150

Looking for crank to install in new frame. Need 44/32/22. Bikefourms is never short of opinions... What's yours?

1. Race Face Evolve XC X-Type
2. Shimano LX
3. FSA AFTERBURNER MEGA EXO
4. Other?

OK I know this is a crappy post... but I am inclined to stick with the Shimano LX crank and wonder if I should consider anything else. The Shimano stuff is usually bulletproof and reliable. Why change? I guess I answered my own question.

I dont have them myself, but i seem to see a lot of people happy with thier LX cranks. Apparently they're very stiff.

FSA's X-type setup is hard to beat. That would be my choice of the three.

I paid $180 for new XT cranks on eBay. Something to consider.

Hated the ones that I had for a few months. The Race Face X-type is a royal pain.

LX, Shimano (and now Campy on the road) are the only ones to figure out a good mounting system for outboard bearing cranks. Other than the not so great rings LX (and XT) are a totally bomb proof setup.
