Hey,
I was wondering, have any of you guys tore your cycling shorts before? So far I only use lycra shorts and it never tore, but It left my skin with red marks. I recently got my self a Fox Mid Ranger shorts so I was wondering, what happen if I fell? Will it tear my shorts?

I wear all my clothes once then put them up for sale. I have a huge following that buys anything I've used.

So if your previous falls didn't rip you lycra shorts, why do you think falling is going to rip your baggy shorts?

(i've torn both types of shorts in the past. it ain't that big a deal.)

And yet baggies tend to be made of more durable materials overall... I've put holes in both types, and have found lycra to be less durable when wrecking. JUst go ride your bike and quit worrying over every little thing. If your shorts tear/rip or whatever, either repair them, or get new ones. It's not rocket surgery.

YMMV.

Not long ago i wrecked about 25 mph , had huge rasberry on hip. After riding home i had to peel short away from skin. No rip on shorts though.

Well do keep in mind that they(baggies) will have more tendencies to snag on things. just use what ever you like , nothing lasts forever. I have ripped a pair of Deviate rpm's , i didn't care for em much anyways , way to loud.

Just looking for a bit of advice.

I just took of roadbiking about a month ago. What kinda cycling shorts does anyone recommend. I wouldn't know what kinda shorts to get, and how much I should be paying for some decent ones.

I have a pair of Cannondale Doubletrack shorts, but were designed specifically for mountain biking. Would these shorts hamper my road biking in any way?

Any help would be useful.

Jas.-

If you're looking for roadie shorts, go old school and look for wool. It's way tougher, it's the original miracle fabric, and doesn't pick up poly-stink. Think wool for jersies too for the same reasons.

There are a number of sites on line that carry them, and some even sew them. Look using your favorite search engine for "wool cycling clothes". Don't let the haters disuade you. Happiness will follow the wearing of woolies.
