Calling all .243 riders

Hi!
Is it possible to use the 243 FR bike as a do-it-all bike ?
I'm thinking about buying a used bike but I'm not sure its what I need.
Looking for a fun bike that will serve me on trails and doing lite urban.
Doing FR can be fun but only after I practice ALOT

My friend has a .243 FR frame built up as a good do it all bike. He rides mostly park, DJ, FR, and a little DH.

Here's the run down on the bike...

Frame: .243 FR
Fork: Mounitou Travis 150mm
Cranks: Shimano Saints
single speed
Brake: crappy Hayes mech. rear only

It is VERY heavy, I would say low 40s.
