Where Have I Been III

'Guess it's my turn...

Ever since my 2nd daughter was born 4 months ago, my trips to the trail have been more and more scant. My poor wife has been overwhelmed with the new one, and I try to share the load equally if not take more upon myself. It really killed me at first. Then I stopped checking the forums a half-dozen times a day. All the sudden...I haven't been to the trail in 4 weeks. I had been riding to work, but that's it. It wasn't my daughter's fault...we have had some pretty bad flooding in the midwest lately.

Okay, so I decide to hit the trail Sunday and I was kinda skeptical. I thought I'd be there for 1/2 hr and die. On the contrary...

I was hitting the downhill sections harder than I ever had! I was bombing the little rock gardens and flying through rooted sections like there was no tomorrow...mainly because I didn't know when I would be able to get back out there again. It's funny how much more I LOVE my local trail network when I haven't been there in a while.

Anyway...I'm back in it. I've been out twice this week and hope to get back out 1-2 more times before the week's over.

I'm still loving the Hope Pro II/EX 5.1d's more every ride, and the work from PUSH Industries is still highly recommended!

Happy Trails All!

It's tough juggling everything. The sacrifice you make off the bike to spend with your kids is really no sacrifice at all. When she gets to be my kids age you'll look back and be glad for every second you spent with her.

I take my daughters to swimming lessons and ballet class because I want to. Sure it takes away from personal play time, but they're only little once. Cherish the time when they're little, you'll have no regrets.

Some of us care; this is quite a good community we have here

Just wait 'til the teenage years, Ed. They are great when they're little; but they are ton of fun to be around as teens. Some people dread it but I really thought it was one of the best ages. Congrats.

Yup...it's already rewarding. Hope they become bikers at some point so we can hit the trail together. My 4 y.o. already loves to ride the trail on the seat behind me...she is a good "triker" too.
