First ride report
I picked up my 1st mountain bike a couple days ago. Today I got a friend show me some of the local trails, we actually met at my house because they are less than a quarter mile away. Anyway, I took a small spill 10 minutes into when I lost control on some loose dirt on a steep decline. No problem, I just fell on my side. The next one, well, a little more involved. Same cause, loose dirt, steep decline. This time, because of what was on the other side of the trail, a cliff, I paniced when I started going faster than I wanted to be. So in the panic I grabbed the front brake and I'm sure you all know what happened next. As I finished the slide to the bottom with the bike on top of me I just lay still for a second to see what hurts. Nothing. My buddy runs up and asks if I'm ok, yeah I'm fine. Is the bike ok? yeah, I think so, I broke it's fall. Are you sure you're ok? Yeah, but did it atleast look cool? Yeah. It was pretty uneventful after that. I'm happy with it's performance, this thing is going to be fun. That was my 1st ride, can't wait for the next.

It's a tragedy when you have a nice wipeout like that, and there's no one to witness it.
Good job.

lol, oh, I have a witness. The real shame is not having any real carnage. Oh well, lots of time for that.

Haha I hate when that happens. That was a good reminder that you go where you look.

Most of all my finest spills have gone unobserved.
Almost like a tree falling without anyone to hear it.
It's sad.
I've gone over the bars a few times.. no one was there to witness it, but I'm pretty sure I flipped 6 or 7 times in the air, and then bounced 20 metres in the air on impact.
Hey, I have a tear in my saddle to prove it.
