Kona Dawg
What do you guys think about this bike. It seems like a really good bike but again I dont know a whole lot about them. I was also looking at the Specialized Hardrock. I know these are 2 totally different bikes but I just wanted to see what you thought about either one of them.Thanks.

Kona is a major player in the MTB world, and I've heard it's a great bike, big, burly, and not really a weight-weenie's bike. To compare a Dawg to a Hardrock though is Apples-to-Oranges....one's a full suspension, and the other's a hardtail (no rear suspension). That being said, it depends what you're looking for in your ride and budget that determines which bike is best for you. Personally, if I had to choose, I'd take the Dawg:) |
Absolutely agree with quick torch.
First you should figure out what kind of riding you want to do. If you're not really sure, you'd probably be better going with the hardrock, which is a fairly capable bike, and saving your money for a big purchase once you know what you like and have honed your skills. General XC, mixed road and trails, or lots of rough trails and some light downhill? Then figure out what you're budget is. The basic Dawg is around 3 times as much as a Hardrock. I have a Dawg Primo and love it. It's rugged and smooth, although not nearly as efficient pedalling or quite as nimble as my hardtail. |
