Where find? 1 inch Suspension fork
I have a 1998 Kona hard tail. LAva Dome with Deore LX mix.
I live in Texas so no big harry downhill rides for me....mostly single track and creek crossings....
The Rock Shox Indy finally gave out...yea its not very aggressive to begin with but it has lasted like a million miles for me.
I wanted to upgrade (slightly) but am having trouble finding 1 inch forks.
Anyone know where I can find 1 inch shocks online new or used...?
Am I crazy for wanting to upgrade this bike?
AM I better off buying a whole new bike for say $400 bucks...?
I saw a rebuild kit for the Rock SHox indy...for like $10 bucks...but I wanted to upgrade a little if possible...and if I don't have to brake the bank doing it.
Any advice appreciated.

do you mean 1'' steerer tube?
you could just buy a new frame and fork then switch your old parts over to the new one

Yes 1 inch steerer tube. can't seem to find those anywhere. NOt much on Ebay right now either...
And where's a good place I could get a fork & frame combo..reasonably priced?
ON nashbar - steel frame for $50 bucks and cheapest susp. fork $250... so at $300 bucks that's aproaching a new bike price.....
Not really looking at the upper end of the market....budget is a factor...
Ideally I would like to find 1 inch steerer tube susp. fork. But those seem to be like unicorns....myths...

Duh ! ! !
OK I feel really well...imbarressed....
THis weekend I had a bike shop take alook at my bike, I though a fork issue.
THe headset bering needed to be replaced ....
The shock was and is fine....a little less stiff than when new (10 yrs ago)....but still good.
Problem solved.....for now - and for only $15 bucks... : )
Thanks for the input.

If you do need a 1" fork Pace do an option on their RC39's.
