29ers in Western WA?

Anyone riding a 29er in Western Washington? I'm considering a change from my hardtail and am debating whether to go FS or 29er. I'm only looking for something to ride on trails similar to Tiger Mtn. I need something that can ride up the Preston RR trail as well as down. Got any advice?

A guy on my team has two 29'ers- an orbea alma carbon and a moots ybbx. Yep, he's rich. 29'er is nice.
Look for a felt niner pro/elite, or a niner rip 9. Where abouts are you and what is your budget?

I'm in Seattle. I'm in the $2000-$2500 range. I'm strongly considering the Niner MCR. I suppose I'm looking more at HTs because I'm generally too lazy or busy to do a lot of maintenance on my bikes. A FS 29er might be the best of both worlds but I'm not planning on doing any races or marathons and I do like to feel the trail a little. Basically I'm looking for a great trail bike that excels both at climbing and descending.
