chain lube suggestions
I have decided I need to switch to a new lube...the one i use now is Ice Wax...it wears off real fast and when it does I can hear the chain and its agrivating...and now I have noticed little rust spots on my chain...so I want to use a thicker lube that will coat the whole chain really well and last...any suggestions?

I used to use finish line XC, however it gets really mucked up. I have been using Prolink for most of this year. It is treating me really well.

Not a specific product suggestion, just this. Use a dry lube in dry conditions and a wet lube when it's wet. Apply liberally until it's dripping off the chain and carrying away most of the grunge, wipe it down thoroughly with a rag to remove most of the rest of the grunge and remaining lube, and then apply another application of lube to the chain. After you ride, wait till any crud dries, brush it off, and repeat the above. I don't expect my chain lube to last any longer than the ride I'm on and I carry a small bottle in my camelback in case it's really wet and grungy and I feel the need to lube on the trail.

i think thats the problem...the trails i ride are really dusty and the lube im using is a water based lube...so its like its soaking up all that dust, drying out..then falling off...

Go with KY. But stay away from the stuff that warms upon application.

I use Liquid Wrench with PTFE. I get it in big cans at Home Depot for $3. Same type of thing as Tri-Flow, only about 1/4 the price.
