I think it would be awesome. The pics of the broken frame will be priceless. Be sure to share them once it happens.

To whom it may concern: Firefox features a built in spell checker as well as numerous other advantages over Internet Explorer.

I'm no spelling Nazi but there comes a point where **** gets ridiculous.

Really bad idea.

I'd look for a fork with 120-130 mm of travel.

Your front wheel will be unable to keep contact with the trail because your center of gravity will be way back over the rear wheel. Plus it'll look like a chopper and then you'll have to post it in the recumbent forum as it'll no longer be a mtb.

Yeah that would snap your frame pretty fast and the geo would be horribly out of whack. Try to find a fork with no more than 130mm travel.

that's a pretty moronic idea to be honest. and the guy at the bike shop is lying. it will break your frame and mess up your geometry.
just get a nice xc fork like a manitou black at nashbar for $280, normally $550. or if you want to go the rockshox or marzocchi route, look into RS rebas and marz bomber forks. any of those would be good. i've always ridden manitou, and it's always been good to me. some people will swear they hate manitou, but some people will swear they love them.

I ran 150mm of travel on my hardrock for a good period of time...the frame snapped at the right chain stay and the head tube was turned into an oval. This was ofter 4 years of hard use.

I would just get a good 130mm fork...

you need a bike that has the support bar connecting to an extra high seatpost, along with the correct geometry ment to hold pressure at different points... Forgot what that support bar is called but heres a picture : (This bike has 171mm of travel)

Get the 170mm fork, and then post a pic when you've put it on the bike.
