Slipping Brake Levers??
 

I bet that some one out there has a problem with their brake levers being slippery. I can see people who sweat a lot or if it is realy wet out. So is there somthing out there to put on your levers? Tape or glue?

I made some glue a long time ago and I never slip. Im just wondering if there is somthing out there like that.

They make liquid rubber that you dip old metal handled tools (like pliers or a cresent wrench) in and it dries as a solid rubber handle. Comes in diffrent colors I'm sure. Probably work great and add bling.

Yes I've seen that. Looks like it would work well. There is also the stuff you spray on your floor that is grippy too.

But I dont like gloves, they constrict my fingers

I think maybe I could sell my glue stuff as a new way to stop slippery levers. And hopefuly become rich!

Check with a motorcycle shop. You're looking for an item called Lever Skins... Should be available from Parts Unlimited or Tucker-Rocky. They are a rubber tube in a foil pouch Soft and pliable (and stinky) when you open the pouch. Just slip them on your levers and let sit over night, In the morning they wwill shrink up and harden to conform to your levers. The stink will be gone too.

You could always use that glue that aquariums are glued together with. The name of it slipped my mind at the moment but I'm sure someone here can enlighten you about what I mean.

Haha I have small hands but I trash all my gloves, so I dont wear them. But cool I will get some of those lever skins.

I saw a guy that put the sandpaper that stick to a buffer ( don'T know how to call it )

Dremel some grooves into the lever blades, parallel with their length? Use the sticky stuff, or lever skins? Find some gloves that you are comfortable riding in?

I know that Lizard Skins make something, but I doubt that it can be any better than just some hockey tape, or some of the wrench stuff, or just some gloves with some grip, like the 661 Rajis.

Never had an issue like that, and I only keep 1 finger on each lever.

i put some of that cloth sports tape(i think thats what it is called) on my levers and its worked great so far

Hey dude I dont know what your problem is but every time I see you post somthing its pee pee. Do you just have nothing better to do in your life that you go around saying pee pee? I didnt say anything the first time I noticed it and the second time I still kept to myself. I think this is like the forth or fith time?

If the lever is smooth there is no place for the water (sweat) to go so your finger is hydroplaning on top. The new XTR stuff has an anodized look to them which is just a way to allow for water evacuation. So, like everyone has said, you can put something on top to absorb the water and dissipate it or you could put abrasions in it. As in scuff it up with a light sand paper, like the new XTR stuff.
