Rear Triangle Problems... Please help.

I am beyond frustrated with this problem.

I bought my '05 Specialized Big Hit used, though it was only used once before I bought it. It is georgous.

It has a rattle in the rear of the bike that has been impossible to find. After two LBS's, a shock shipped back to Fox for revamping, a torquing and tightening of every bolt, and a bottom bracket rebuild later, the rattle hasn't eased up a bit.

The LBS's said it was a cable. After tying down EVERY cable... nothing. No cracks in the frame.

I put thin rubber between the shock discs and the shock and changed the bolts in the eyelets... NOTHING CHANGED.

I am feeling really betrayed and let down by the whole idea of FS, because this is my first and I am FAR from impressed.

If ANYONE can give any suggestions as to what this could be, or if there are any other suggestions, PLEASE let me know.

Thanks.

In typical FSR fashion, it may be the derailleur body clanging against the lower Horst link pivot. If you have any leftover helmet fit-pads, stick one in the spot on the der. where the body contacts the pivot...should cushion it and make the clatter go away.

My bike makes all kinds of racket .. my suggestion is to just let the loose ends drag.

That's what I was gonna say...my XT does it now and then. I've got a tube wrapped 'round the stay. Most of the noise is gone except for repeated stutter-G's.

Yeah I've always had one. Its not the d'er, I tried that.

Who knows. It really sounds and feels like its coming from the shock. The bushings and eyelets are tight and immobile, so it may be internal.

Its all good, still rides like a champ...
