Gunnar rockhound for racing?

Does anyone race XC with a gunnar rockhound? I am thinking about one to replace my 04 giant xtc1 hardtail I recently broke. That bike had some really good racing geometry, but I was thinking of going to a steel frame. I like the looks of the gunnar, but the geometry seems odd.

Just got a Gunnar recently. I'm happier than I would have thought. Never giving this one up. Haven;t raced it yet, but I'm planning on doing a 24 hour in August on it.

nothing specific. The top tube seems long and the head angle a bit relaxed. To be honest, I haven't looked too closely at it.

My brother has one and loves it. It's geometry is typical cross country-- low BB and long top tube.

I just did the local race a couple weeks back and saw several guys (and one gal) racing Rock Hounds. I've got a Gunnar Ruffian, but I didn't ride it that weekend 'cause I'm not badass enough to race SS yet.

Well. Thanks for the advice guys. Honestly at the moment I am hoping that Giant warrantys my frame...who knows. However, if I need to replace it the gunnar is high on the list.

PS. you don't need to be a badass to race SS, just not be afraid of losing (pathetically in my case)
