ROckshox lock out locked

Hello this is my first post. I will try and keep this to the point.

I have a Kona Blast with rockshox dart 2.

Everything has been working fine on the bike till Monday when the bike seemed a bit harsh when riding. This is my first front suspension bike and when i to ok it to the LBS where i bought the bike they showed me that i am only getting maybe 10mm of travel.

Any ideas what has caused this? its almost like the lock out is locked and wont unlock. THe bike is less then a month old and has only been on your run of the mill groomed trails. The most ht i have gotten is probably 6" or as high as a curb.

Any help would be appreciated

I will be taking it back to the bike shop this week but in my mind this is a defective part and not my fault i hope i do not get charged with the repair of the shock.

hmm I have the dart 2 and mine doesnt have lockout...and I have never had problems with it locking up...sounds like something came apart on the inside. Can't say for sure if the LBS will charge you, if you recently purchased it from them then they will probably fix it for free, unless they decide that you have been abusing it, and even then they will probably still fix it for free.

Have you checked the preload isnt wound all the way in?
I have a dart 3, and another bike in my house ha a Dart 2 an they are both very stiff forks, maybe it runs in the Dart line?
I would play with the preload and rebound before assuming catastrophy.

THe shock is set as soft as it can go i might have a bit more then 10mm of travel .. id say more like 1" but thats as far as it will go then it sounds like its bottoming out. The girlfriend and I both bought bikes together ... her shock is the dart 1 (Kona Firemountain) and her shock has a ton of travel ...
