Picked Up My First Mountain Bike Today! Thoughts? IH Warrior 4.5

Ok, so I have been an avid BMXer most of my life but i figured "Hey ill be 23 in a couple days, so why not step it up to do some bigger riding?" So today i went out and bought a 2007 Iron Horse Warrior 4.5. Any thoughts on it? Maybe some of you have it and can let me know its ups and downs or any thoughts you may have at all or opinions. Thank you

I agree, I think iron horse is becoming a quality bike company. I test road the sunday expert and it handled everything perfectly. Nice bike have fun with it.

Here's my opinion....it doesn't matter what any one else thinks. As long as you enjoy the bike, that's all that matters. Enjoy and go out and ride!

I don't see many IH haters in my circle. Usually find them where people care about boutique snobbery. Over in the world where you dont park your bike on the roof of your porsche SUV at pete's coffee, and actually ride the crap out and abuse bikes on dirt and rock and wood, IH have great reputations.

Updated with pictures of my bike. Thanks everyone for the input

I just love it when people ask for post-purchase approval of their bike.

ballaholyk84 08-05-07 02:58 AM

the only reason i was asking was because i feel i got it for a pretty good deal and can always take it back if its not cracked up to be how the sales man said it is. It is also my very first mtb purchase. I am also looking for experience tips from others

Interesting, I would say the opposite is true.

To the OP, Iron Horse bikes are great values and your bike should serve you well. It is a lot for a first bike. The only part that I would consider upgrading is the shock as your new bike is a single pivot that would theoretically work better with a platform. In some cases it is better to swap parts from the beginning and sell your parts as new on ebay so give that a thought. On the other hand, you could well ride that shock to the ground and eventually replace it with a better one.

that setup looks pretty nice,

and i'd also say a lot of people like iron horse and few hate them, personally, i think similarly to others here, that it depends what you think on it, and how it handles for your style,

chrisernator 08-06-07 11:33 AM

Hey sweet bike, i recently bought an Ironhorse too, did you get it at sportchek?

ballaholyk84 08-06-07 12:14 PM

No i end up picking it up from performance as they had a pretty sweet deal.

CarLo 09-07-07 04:32 PM

how much did you get it for?
