    Garyfisher Mullet vs. Haro V4

Which one should I get? I know a place where the Mullet is goin' for $500 down from $820.
I don't know the exact price of the Haro, can anyone tell me what they paid? thx.
Any info on which bike is better for the money, etc would be appreciated. I'm leaning towards the Mullet right now but I'm not completely sure.!

The Mullet is a way better bike for the money. The shop I saw V4s in had them for $550 and had a ton of them. The Mullet is kind of a Freeride bike though, it may not be as good for XC.

It's not really a freeride bike, but I see what you're saying. It's a tough trail bike or All Mountain bike if you wanna classify it. The PHD is Fisher's FR HT.

I think of the Mullet as a Banshee Scirocco and the PHD as the Morphine. (though, the Banshee bikes are MUCH tougher in each class than the Fisher's) Just a rough "type" comparison.

The Mullet is good for XC if you're a big dude or rough on bikes and break alot of crap. It's a bit more of a chore to lug around the woods, but I wouldn't go hucking it off an 8' ladder.

(personally, I'd rather ride the biggun's bikes on my XC trails than Fisher's dedicated XC bikes because I AM prone to breaking them)

Thanks for the info, I will be getting a new bike to replace barely-alive CCM XR-4 next weekend, and I was hoping on hearing good things about the "Mullet". I'm gonna split the cost with my dad and the only way he'll help pay for a new bike is if it has good value, durable, or on sale. Is this bike good for skate park/light downhill
and jumping? Cause I need a bike that handle a beating without the derailleur and stuff breaking.

Ohh yeah, does anyone know the weight of the bike? I would be getting the 15.5" frame.

If and when I get the bike I wanna upgrade the shocks cause 've heard 1000 times that they suck, anyways does anyone have a good option for new forks, preferrably 120mm & up, and I'm not willing to spend over $300.

    thx

I have been thinking about the Marzocchi AM 3 ($197 @ Jensons), the Manitou Stance Flow, the Manitou Nixon Elite, and the RS Revelation 409 Dual Air forks. Any other options? Right now the fork I would choose is the AM 3's.Don't like my choice? Post other options.

I saw someone at my local skate park with a GF Mullet, and they said it was pretty sweet: nothing broken, tough, light, etc. About an hour later my derailleur broke - in half - I've got no idea why or how. (this was on my CCM XR-4)
All I did was go down a semi -steep hill and go off a small (about 2 feet of air), landed and then It snapped, my rear tire seized up and skidded all over the place. Thankfully it was just the derailleur though.

And today was the day I learned how to bunnyhop properly...

Oh well this gives me more reason for getting a new bike!
