I just upgraded mine too but in my case it was from a '03 Rock Shox Judy XC. As you said, the difference is night and day and it is very responsive. I am very pleased with my purchase, the performance is very similar to a Fox but at half the price. Just an unbeatable deal..

It is a tad heavier than other suspensions, but since I am not a weight weenie I couldn't care less.

I agree with Ricardo. I have the MX Pro ETA on two bikes and it's a winner.

MX Comp ETA lacks the external rebound adjustment the Pro has...

It's decent. Defiantly not top of the line, but it's worth about the $250 you paid for it. Too much travel, IMO.
