The trails around me wear tires out in 200 miles, so buying $50 tires makes no sense. Smoke/Dart &/or Fire XC Pro. Less than $20 each and work quite well.

What about a good narrow hp slick? I hear Conti makes a 120 psi tire, anyone used those?

I used the Small blocks on my 29er. It worked fine for me on hardpack and did OK with loose over hardpack (like sand, pine needles, etc)
