if i am 5-7 will a 29er be a bad option?

I'm 5'7" and ride a 16" 29er. It works for me.

I'm 5'7" and I ride a small Niner Sir 9. So yes, the 29er is for smaller guys as well. The founder of Niner Bikes himself is 5'6."

Don't let people tell you about "sluggish" wheels. The larger wheel on the 29er effectively changes the gear ratio. A 29er geared identically to a 26er will be about 4 teeth higher given the same actual gear selection.

The chic who just won the WIlderness 101 in Pa is TINY & she rides a 29er - single speed, no less!
