Tire Help!!!
 

Hey all! Got a Trek 7100 for my commute and I'm looking to put some bigger tires on for a trip down to New Light in Raleigh. Just wondering if the bike can support wider tires with bigger knobs? Also wanted to know about lowering the stem? Also, it has the adjustable shock-post... was wondering if i can just put a rigid post in or not? ANY help would be aweosme! Thanks.

You might want to measure in between the chainstays and on the fork to make sure the tires your planning on getting will fit.

Yeah, you can get wider tyres but not too wide....

Normally your frame limits how wide your tires can be! Consider that mud could also make your tire wider too if you drive on mud surface. So the distance between frame and tire could decrease and the tire could touch the frame.
