What you all think about this?
So ive made some research and talked to some people at the local bike shop and they have suggested the commencal Combi R or the combi disc hydro. Apparently theres a new 2008 model of the two coming out soon and the bike is in the price range i was looking for. (https://www.commencal.com)
My general question is what do you all think about these two bikes? Good buy for a pretty agresiv rider that needs something that wont break?
Thanks

I've taken a look at the bikes.
The Combi Disk doesn't seem to be a good choice. It seems all they did is take a cheap bike and slap Juicy 3s on them. Acera/Alivio level, and Suntour components with a Juicy 3? The Combi R has a better component mix.
Other things though. I've never heard of this brand. However, the mere fact does not mean that they don't make decent bikes. However, you might have a hard time finding a community of owners. Also, a quick look on mtbr reveals that there are NO reviews for the Combi series. Simply something to think about

A guy in my club that I have a lot of respect for as both a rider and wrench rides a Commencal Meta5.5. I know it's not a Combi but he did replace an Ellsworth for this bike. Bear in mind that the place he worked for did supply Commencals but if I remember correctly they also sold other brands but he still settled on this one.

its an OEM bike. I would question their logic if they put that component mix on. But I already bought my bike, upgrading it makes sense. XT level components after the fork
