Got a new bike today

You guys probably remember me asking you guys about what bike to get since the beginning of July. This is my first bike, and I decided to get the 2008 Gary Fisher Tassajara. I picked it up just today and took it on a spin around the neighborhood. I really like the way it rides, but don't ask me much about how it compares to other bikes because I'm used to riding on Fred Meyer and Wal Mart bikes. I currently don't have any pictures, but I have a trail about 10 minutes from my house that I'm going to ride on either this Friday or Saturday, so I'll have some then.

Also, I noticed that a lot of gravel from the roads (I live in Alaska) got onto my derailleurs. How often should I clean them and with what?

Good choice in bike. Citrus degreaser does wonders for the drivetrain.

Love to hear that. Now you will notice the difference in build quality between your GF Tassie and the Wal Mart bikes. Enjoy those trails and dont come here without pictures from your maiden trip.
