Just got my Redline Monocog - great frame!!!

...especially considering the low, LOW price at which JensonUSA is selling these babies. I dunno why, are they a discontinued production? I see that Redline now makes diskbrake-only versions of these frames.

Anyhow, I needed a 29er frame that supports both V-brakes and diskbrakes. And did I ever get what I wanted - this frame is beautifu. An important consideration in buying this 29er frame was peer recommendation. Basically, I don't know anyone who has it, that would be unsatisfied.

I was a bit surprised with the fork that's part of this frameset. It's a great fork, don't get me wrong - it's just that I expected it to be slightly larger. It's, more or less, as large as the Kona Project 2 26", and much smaller than the Surly Instigator 26" (by the way, I'd love to use that mother****er on one of my 29ers - too bad for the V-brake bosses being in the wrong place).

I plan on moving the components from my noname Aluminum 29er, onto this one. I am enjoying the sweetness of that labor, in advance. Not to speak of the sweetness of the ride!

EDIT: forgot to say that the frame was packed impeccably - a layer of bubblewrap and a layer of ondulated cardboard, in a sturdy box. The fork was also packed in those two layers and put in a separate box. Amazing - again, considering the low price at which I got this frameset. All of a sudden, 29er biking seems cost-effective.

loving my RLMC29er. It is a great value. The likely reason Jenson is clearing them out is the '08s are due soon. The '08s will be black instead of brown.

Yep - as I said, no Monocog 29er that I know of, is unsatisfied :)
Thanks for the info/possible explanation for the ridicolous deal on these frames.

By the way, the Zion 737EBB frameset looked like an excellent deal, as well, but I really could not NOT have the V-brake bosses. If the Zion frame had them, I'd have paid twice the listed price of $249 for the frameset (they throw the Zion 29er fork in for free with that frame - but again, no V-brake bosses).

And you're running Big Apples on it, too?? That's exactly the tires I'll be moving from the Aluminum 29er!

And then, for the winter, I'll get me these (coming out next month)!

I wish I lived somewhere where it snowed and had a use for tires like that. For now, I use the MC as a kick ass commuter bike and have a Vassago Jabberwocky built up for the trails. I'm running Panaracer Rampages on the Jabberwocky but plan on switching to Halo Choir Masters whenever they become available in the states.
