is this a good recreational mountain bike?

so i have a beater 80s champion road bike i use to ride around town and whatever i have to do on roads, but im looking for a new mountain bike since my last one was way too small and is dead. i found this bike on ebay and motobecanne seems to be a reputable brand. comments?

Tolerable, not amazing. The Alivio drivetrain basically sucks, as does the RST fork. You'll find better buys at that price point if you tool around craigslist.
